TRANSMISSION RUBBER BELTS
Trusty & Reliable
Power Transmission Belts are classified into two categories. V-Belt and Synchronous Belt (also commonly referred to as timing belt).
A belt's principal function is to convey rotation from a powered driver pulley to one or more driven pulleys. The belt must be developed and capable of effectively and reliably conveying this torque.
-
The V-Belt is a friction device that operates on the wedge concept. To transmit power, strain is used to generate friction on the sidewall of the sheave. It enables slipping.
-
Synchronous or timing belts are positive engagement devices that rely on the belt teeth precisely meshing with the sprocket grooves. It does not permit slippage.
